Joshua M. Scanlon

Project Manager
I realized I wanted to be a civil engineer when I realized that it provides a good office and field mix tailored to the type of work you want to do. It is also very broad and provides opportunities for many different projects to work on and is needed around the world. At Gateway, I am a Project Manager tasked with executing projects while maintaining client relationships. I am also involved with business development and meet new potential clients and develop relationships with them, learning about their needs and opportunities that exist for Gateway to provide solutions.

Before moving to Pittsburgh and joining the team at Gateway, I was a field engineer for Simon Contractors in Gillette, Wyoming, where I spent 90% of my time in the field, coordinating with subcontractors, WYDOT, and our own work force to execute projects.

As busy as I am at work, I stay just as busy when I'm not. I enjoy being outside, camping, hiking, hunting, golfing. Something that most people don't know about me is, I make maple syrup with my family and I fly single-engine aircraft as a hobby. I also like to travel whenever and wherever I can.
