Aaron L. Richardson

Director of Project Management
I knew I wanted to be a Project Manager from a very young age, I just didn’t know project management was what it was called. I have always enjoyed solving problems and putting a plan in place to get things done. While I have a strong passion for design and started my career as a Landscape Architect, I quickly realized that what I really loved was the challenge of putting a plan in place and seeing it through.

I currently perform a wide variety of functions at Gateway, but what I tend to tell people, when asked, is that I help to run the business. I spend a lot of my time on the continued advancement of the Project Manager Development System, the development of individual Project Managers, and supporting them in their day-to-day execution of projects. I help to keep Gateway’s Project Management System a driver of client satisfaction and Gateway’s continued success. I also manage a wide variety of support infrastructure projects in an effort to support our employees and the business in many ways.

I’ve been at Gateway full-time since I graduated from college. I also worked as an intern at Gateway prior to my full time employment. Prior to that, I had worked for a lawn care business and landscape contractor since the age of 15.

While not at work, I really enjoy spending time with my family – my wife, 5 children, and our dog. Together we play a lot of hockey (I coach several teams), we hike, we bike, and we camp a lot in the summer months. Another thing I enjoy doing is making music – playing the piano, guitar or bass, and now doing that with my kids as they learn to play several instruments.
