Michael A. Harvey
Project Manager
I knew I wanted to be a problem solver from a young age when I excelled in math and science. I always wanted to break apart small appliances and try to put them back together again. As I grew up, I started developing a strong desire to fix or improve the things that make life easier. I quickly became a leader that excelled in bringing people together to work in teams solving problems and creating solutions.
My role at Gateway is to engage in a continuous process of learning and maintaining an understanding of the business and technical needs of our project managers and clients. Through this immersion, I lead the projects to improve the systems and optimize processes used here at Gateway. I joined Gateway in 2024, having spent the previous 10 years as a software product manager. Prior to that, I served as a consultant to the Center of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), leading the team that supports the cloud-based environments of their payment systems. Additionally, I worked for a small startup electric scooter company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts called Superpedestrian, and led teams at Highmark, where I managed the building and on-going support of an all-new premium billing system.
My life outside of work revolves around my family: my wife of 30+ wonderful years, my two daughters, our Bernese Mountain Dog, and two cats. We all enjoy going out to eat and spending time during the summer in our pool. I am a music and concert fanatic. I’ve seen hundreds of bands and have taken thousands of videos mostly from up close in the front row. I also enjoy golfing, hockey, learning to play the drums, and I am a certified advanced scuba diver with around 100 dives since I was 15 years old.
