Skyline Terrace Phase II

Keith B. Key Enterprises (KBK) was selected to redevelop Skyline Terrace, a former public housing community in Pittsburgh’s Hill District.  One component of this project involved the construction of 40 townhouses and 50 apartments.  Through a recommendation by LaQuatra Bonci Associates, KBK engaged Gateway Engineers to provide civil engineering and surveying services for the townhouses and apartments.

The project team worked closely with City Planning and Zoning staff to address parking, zoning, and stormwater regulations.  Due to public funding requirements, Gateway Engineers prepared and bid three separate construction contracts – demolition, public improvements, and private improvements – each with a separate set of construction documents.

Through the design process and over the lifecycle of the project, we worked collaboratively with the design team, permitting agencies, and the contractor in order to provide cost effective site layout, stormwater, and utility design solutions which ultimately helped to reduce site construction costs.
