Peters Township Recreation Center, Washington County, PA Working with WTW Architects and Peters Township, The Gateway Engineers, Inc. played a critical role in the design and construction of the Peters Township Community Recreation Center. The project involved the design and construction of a 37,000 square-foot recreation facility located in Peterswood Park adjacent to the Township recreation fields and Arrowhead Trail. The facility includes an outdoor multipurpose court for basketball, soccer and deck hockey, and a new softball field. The center also has multipurpose spaces with two full-size basketball courts and an elevated running/walking track. The multipurpose spaces are designed with lighting and acoustics to accommodate performances, dances, and other community activities. As the municipal engineer for Peters Township, Gateway played an integral part in every aspect of the design and construction of this project. Gateway performed surveying, site engineering and landscape architecture services, including grading, pavement, streetscape, HOP permitting, erosion & sedimentation control plans, utility, stormwater, sanitary sewer tap connection approval, as well as construction administration, landscape design and geotechnical coordination. Gateway also designed a skate park and softball field adjoining the Recreation Center.
