  Richard P. Wenzel, P.L.S., Vice President
Richard P. Wenzel currently serves as The Gateway Engineers, Inc. vice president working out of the Butler, Pennsylvania office. Joining the company in December 1996, he has over 25 years of experience managing a variety of commercial, private and institutional projects.

Mr. Wenzel has extensive experience in both the field and office aspects of the land surveying discipline. He also brings with him project management skills and experience for the timely preparation of feasibility studies, land development plans, subdivision plans, state, county, and local permits, design development plans, and construction documentation for commercial facilities, single- and multi-family residential developments, and institutional projects. Mr. Wenzel is a member of several industry-related associations and stays heavily involved in community outreach programs.

Paul J. Gaus, P.E., Principal Engineer
Paul J. Gaus currently serves as The Gateway Engineers, Inc. principal engineer. Joining the company in 1970 as a draftsman, he has served in various capacities throughout his career. He is presently the municipal representative for five municipalities where he manages multiple municipal improvement projects from concept to completion.

Mr. Gaus has project management experience in the preparation of detailed design plans and specifications for commercial and residential development. His current position involves the review of land development activities and the design of municipal infrastructure including roads, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, parks, and buildings.

Joseph L. Gray, P.E., Vice President
Joseph L. Gray currently serves as The Gateway Engineers, Inc. vice president working out of the Butler, Pennsylvania office. He was the former owner of Gray-Warnick Engineering, which became part of The Gateway Engineers, Inc. in December 2004. Mr. Gray has brought to the company over 20 years of progressive experience in project planning and design with an emphasis on residential and municipal related development projects.

Mr. Gray is heavily involved in client relations and project oversight. While remaining involved in project management for the private sector he also serves as the representative for several municipalities and authorities. Mr. Gray maintains membership in a number of engineering related associations and regional leadership organizations.

Patrick T. Cooper, P.E., P.L.S., Associate
Patrick T. Cooper currently serves as a project manager for The Gateway Engineers, Inc. He has been involved in land surveying and land planning since 1981. He is also an associate at Gateway.

Mr. Cooper has worked on all types of land developments and has been responsible for many miles of roadway and infrastructure design. He is involved in every step of the land development process and often serves as the quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) manager in large development projects. His approach to land development maximizes land use while considering construction costs and feasibility.

Kevin P. Hannegan, P.L.S., Director of Surveys, Associate
Kevin P. Hannegan currently serves as the director of surveys for The Gateway Engineers, Inc. Joining the company in 1977, he has worked on numerous landmark projects, formed many strong client relationships, and established a solid reputation for meeting or exceeding project expectations.

Mr. Hannegan oversees the entire surveying team at Gateway. He is experienced in ALTA/ACSM land title surveys, subdivision plans, utility surveys, topography surveys, monitoring projects, commercial building projects, construction stakeout surveys, field, and boundary work.

W. Scott Rusmisel, P.E., Associate
W. Scott Rusmisel's currently serves as a project manager for The Gateway Engineers, Inc. and is an associate. Joining the company in February 2000, he routinely splits time managing various design and build projects including residential and commercial developments, as well as municipal improvements. He has experience working with governmental regulatory agencies and municipal officials.

Mr. Rusmisel oversees all work performed at the company's Washington, PA office. He is the municipal representative for three municipalities in Southwestern PA while being an assistant representative with numerous other municipal clients.

Joseph H. Sites, P.E., Associate
Joseph H. Sites currently serves as project manager for The Gateway Engineers, Inc. Joining the company in 1990, he is experienced in the total management of construction projects, from design specification writing through construction completion.

Mr. Sites also functions as a municipal representative for six municipalities in Southwestern PA. He manages multiple municipal clients while also being responsible for directing the company's inspection services.

Jason D. Jesso, RLA, ASLA, Associate
Jason D. Jesso currently serves as a project manager and as the assistant director of land development for The Gateway Engineers, Inc. Joining the company in 2000, he is an experienced project manager with a broad array of technical competencies in civil engineering.

Mr. Jesso works closely with municipalities, developers and architecture firms on a broad array of land development projects. He also manages numerous publicly bid educational facilities projects located throughout Pennsylvania and Ohio. Mr. Jesso's experience has translated into a strong foundation for construction documentation and client relations.

James A. Brethauer, P.L.S., Associate
James A. Brethauer currently serves as a project manager and as the assistant director of surveys for The Gateway Engineers, Inc. Joining The Gateway Engineers, Inc. in 1985 he has over 20 years of experience leading several large commercial, industrial and municipal related surveying projects.

Mr. Brethauer is an experienced project manager and is qualified in various aspects of surveying, including preparing and overseeing subdivision plans, cell tower site development, topographic surveys, field surveying, ALTA/ACSM land title surveys, and construction stakeout surveys.


Board of Directors

Ruthann L. Omer, P.E., President
Ruthann L. Omer currently serves as The Gateway Engineers, Inc. president and is a member of the board of directors. Amassing over 20 years of municipal engineering experience with a background in the construction and inspection arena, Omer manages the engineering activities for seven municipalities located in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Ms. Omer is a resourceful and team-oriented executive recognized for her ability to identify, develop and manage new business. As a member of the company's board of directors, she regularly contributes to the creation and implementation of successful business strategies. She is affiliated with over 15 engineering and leadership related organizations throughout Pennsylvania and routinely contributes both her time and money to charitable causes for the region.

Daniel S. Deiseroth, P.E., Executive Vice President
Daniel S. Deiseroth currently serves as The Gateway Engineers, Inc. executive vice president and is a member of the board of directors. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in four states and has been involved in land planning since he joined Gateway in 1985. He also currently serves as the director of the land development group for the company and works on all aspects of commercial and residential land development projects while also overseeing multiple municipal clients.

Mr. Deiseroth is a dynamic and dedicated executive who has assisted in diversifying the company's business sectors through strategic networking and market intelligence. As a member of the board of directors, he contributes to the efficiency of operations and long-term planning. Mr. Deiseroth is a member of various industry related organizations and routinely spends time mentoring young engineers to help them reach their professional goals.

Michael C. Zavoina, Chief Executive Officer
Michael C. Zavoina currently serves as The Gateway Engineers, Inc. chief executive officer and is a member of the board of directors. He received an MBA from the University of Tennessee and a BS in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University. Joining The Gateway Engineers, Inc. in 1998 as the director of finance and resources, appointed COO in 2001 and CEO in 2007, Mr. Zavoina has progressively enhanced the company's business model using efficient project operations as the focal point.

Mr. Zavoina has helped transform the company into a strategic project management focused organization. By combining innovative leadership strategies with proven management tactics, he has implemented an organizational approach to project management. Mr. Zavoina belongs to several leadership and management organizations in the engineering industry and frequently serves as a guest speaker at related conferences.
